Garden Herb Bread
(bread machine)
3 cups bread flour
2 tbsp nonfat dry milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1 cup water
1 egg
2 tbsp margarine/butter
1 tbsp Italian herbs mix (McCormick sells this as a herb mix) or any combination
of marjoram, thyme, rosemary, sage, savory, oregano and basil that you like*
2 1/2 tsp yeast
* Use 3 tbsp fresh herbs of the above combinations INSTEAD of the dry herbs.

Make 1 1/2-pound recipe for bread machines that use 3 cups flour, or make
1 pound recipe for bread machines that use 2 cups flour.
1-POUND RECIPE (8 SLICES):
3/4 cup water
2 teaspoons margarine or butter, softened
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
2 cups bread flour
1 tablespoon dry milk
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
1 1/2-POUND RECIPE (12 SLICES):
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon margarine or butter, softened
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
3 cups bread flour
2 tablespoons dry milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
2 1/4 teaspoons bread machine yeast
Measure carefully, placing all ingredients in bread machine pan in the order
recommended by the manufacturer.
Select Basic/White cycle. Use Medium or Light crust color.
Remove baked bread from pan and cool on wire rack.
Garlic Breadsticks (bread machine dough
cycle)
3/4 cup plus 3 tablespoons water (90-100 degree F)
3 cups bread flour
2 tablespoons dry milk
3 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
3 tablespoons olive oil
3-4 fresh garlic cloves crushed
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup favorite pizza sauce (for dipping)
Add lukewarm water to bread pan. add flour, milk, sugar and salt. Tap pan
to settle ingredients. Push some mixture into corners. Place butter into
corners. Make a well in center and add yeast. Lock pan into machine. Program
machine for dough. When dough is done, let sit for 15 minutes. Then knead
well and roll out onto a greased cookie sheet.
Spread the olive oil onto the top of dough and add the crushed garlic. Make
sure to spread evenly. Then add the Parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese.
Bake at 400F for 12-15 minutes or until light golden brown.
Use a pizza cutter and cut in long strips and serve with pizza sauce for
dipping.
