"Easy, Quick and Fantastic. I admit, initially I thought pizza on the grill would be a little intimidating. Like how does it not fall through the grates? But Elizabeth Karmel and Bob Blumer know their stuff. The book is layed out great, beginning with step by step instructions for preparing the basic dough to setting up the grill. Also included are several shortcuts which can be used to cut down the prep time without sacrificing any of the goodness!! The recipes are organized and easy to follow. You will be amazed at the wide array of toppings for just about any kind of pizza you can think of. This is definately not your local pizza parlor eats.

The only advice I did not follow was to try it out first, before inviting guests. I entertained for six people and made three pizzas. The total prep time was about an hour and the cooking time was less than twenty minutes. The outcome....FANTASTIC. All of my freinds were raving about how great it tasted. And when they saw me make it, in awe of how easy it was.

Bottom line you cannot go through the BBQ season without this book. Your family and friends will be amazed and delighted. Sure to be the hit of any BBQ, either as a starter, main course or dessert!!"

"I've had this book since the 80's, and I still think it is the best cookbook for making pizzas that is available. I have to say that to all those that are expecting to find the exact secret recipes from Gino's East, Homerun Inn and Nancy's shouldn't bother buying this book because they obviously are not buying it for the right reason. Chicago Style pizza is more about the technique than the ingredients, although it does specifically mention that the quintessential ingredient that you'll need is '6 in 1 (brand)' canned tomatoes. This book teaches you exactly what you need to know: What kind of equipment you need, basic recipes, and most importantly how to assemble a pizza like the pro's do here in the 'City Of Big Shoulders'. Incidentally, not all Chicago-Style Pizza is deep-dish as non-Chicagoans seem to think that it is.

If you as a reader/aspiring chef can't understand that most good cookbooks are more of a guideline/textbook, and they aren't going to be filled with commercial recipes or magic spells for making something that tastes great, then perhaps you should order a pizza for delivery, and stay the heck out of the kitchen.

Anyone that has lived in the area and eaten a variety of Chicago pizzas for any extended period of time will understand that this book is extremely helpful... the tourists and "culinarially challenged" of course won't. "

"Really good crust recipes. I checked this book out from the library, coming here to buy it today. I made the boboli type crust and it was excellent. I have been trying for some time to get a really good thin crust recipe and this is quite flavorful. She suggests you pre bake the crust for this particular recipe and it comes out crispier. I was actually able to slide it on my stone with no trouble. Wonderful CRISPY pizza for the first time!"
